The Expert Committee comprises experts specialized in the water sector and development of the Mekong River basin, divided into three subcommittees to provide technical consultation and explore potential opportunity for collaboration on regional water issues.

The R&D Technology Subcommittee provides on regionally applicable water-related technologies, and the Mekong Cooperation Subcommittee advices on the effective strategies for institutional cooperation toward the Mekong region. The Innovative Technology Subcommittee, mainly consisting of private sector of ROK, identifies water projects by providing appropriate technology matching with the regional water issues. Each subcommittee creates synergies through regular information sharing and opinion exchange to build an organic cooperation structure.
